World Missions

Jesus’ command to love our neighbors knows no borders. Missions takes us beyond our community, to extend our concern to strategic places and people beyond our immediate reach. We seek to meet both physical and spiritual needs, as Jesus did.

We do this through people. Strong institutions are crucial, but we choose to channel our support through mission partners we know and trust and can learn from. By forming a caring relationship with these partners, we seek to join them in their hands-on involvement in strategic environments.

Dusty & Sherri Ellington

Arab Baptist Theological Seminary (ABTS) Beirut, Lebanon

Arab Baptist Theological Seminary (ABTS) offers biblical and ministry training in Arabic to students across the Middle East and North Africa. Dusty has his Ph.D. in New Testament from Duke University and teaches at the seminary, while Sherri spends her time serving in the community.

The Sendeks - he a Californian, she a Colombian, have spent their lives training pastors and church workers in Colombia. Elizabeth recently completed a long tenure as president of the seminary and has returned to the classroom. Don served as chaplain and now oversees the scholarship program of the seminary.

Brian & Megan Meyers

World Venture

Beira, Mozambique

Brian is a medical doctor teaching in a medical school and mentoring students. Megan is an ethnomusicologist dedicated to the church’s use of Mozambican music in worship and evangelism. They are both involved in building and launching a Christian school.

Dave & Daphne Fisher

Communitas

After many years in Spain and Portugal, the Fishers now reside in the Bay Area while supporting Communitas missionaries throughout Europe. Their role is to train, mentor, and provide care through periodic visits and through the Internet.

Greg & Kristi Fauss

Berlin, Germany

Greg and Kristi have served in Germany for decades, working both with refugees and with revitalizing efforts in the Free Evangelical Church of Germany. Currently they are operating from a base in California due to family needs.

Emily is involved with planting a new church in Berlin and serves with refugee families.

Jeff Johnson

Young Life, Sonoma County, CA

Jeff is area director for Young Life in Sonoma County. Young Life is an evangelistic ministry primarily to high school and middle school kids who have no church connection. Jeff leads a team to reach some of the more than 20,000 adolescents in Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, Sebastopol, and Forestville.

“Link,” Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship (IVCF)

TheThiels train and mobilize IVCF staff to join student Christian movements in other parts of the world at their invitation.

Joe Thackwell

Faculty and Graduate Student Ministry, Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship (IVCF)

Joe serves at the University of Southern California as part of a national role with faculty and graduate student ministry.

Laurel DeVera

Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship (IVCF), Sacramento, CA

Laurel works with university students around the Sacramento region, doing Christian discipleship and evangelism.
